Our Staff ICPA's Mission Why Use Concrete?

The Iowa Concrete Paving Association was formed in 1963 as a state organization representing the concrete paving industry.  Its membership includes contractors, suppliers of materials, equipment manufacturers, and other forums providing essential services to the concrete paving industry.  


Statement of Purpose

To counsel, advise and render maximum assistance in the conception and planning of roads and other public installations, recognizing the historical and continuing importance to our society of advancements in such projects for the use and general welfare of the public.

To encourage and promote the use of concrete for and in the paving and construction of highways, streets, airfields, and other public improvements.

To advance the use of concrete road materials by means of public education, information, and research; by dissemination of facts and data relative to the advantages of concrete; by rendering cooperation and aid to local, state, and federal authorities in establishing standards for road and pavement construction; and generally for the public welfare and interest to foster the use of concrete for public construction purposes.

To maintain a high standard of workmanship and products by concrete paving contractors and to encourage sound, lawful business practices in the trade for the benefit of the public and contracting authorities; and to encourage those methods of contracting policies and work which relieve the contractor of improper risks.

To interchange views and disseminate useful information among members of the association in order to establish construction methods and procedures enhancing the efficiency and status of concrete paving contractors.

The ICPA is recognized by highway officials, engineers, contractors, and paving experts as the state voice for the concrete paving industry.
